Editorial standards
The evidence comes first.
Independent editorial judgment, clear reporting and a publication record readers can trust.
Review with a reasoned decision
Research receives two independent expert reviews, with methods or statistical review when needed. Editors assess scope, scientific contribution, ethical suitability and whether the study supports its conclusions.
- Initial assessmentScope, completeness, ethics and conflicts are checked before external review.
- Independent reviewQualified reviewers assess the work; specialist expertise is added when needed.
- Editorial decisionThe editor weighs the evidence and explains the decision or essential revisions.
- Publication preparationAccepted work proceeds through rights, permissions, production and author proofs.
There is no acceptance promise or rejection quota. An invitation to revise does not guarantee acceptance. Review times depend on the work and available expertise.
Editorial independence
The Society’s adopted editorial charter protects manuscript decisions. Directors, donors and sponsors cannot determine individual outcomes. Funding or membership does not purchase publication.
Conflicted manuscripts require independent handling. An editor’s or Society leader’s own work must not be decided by that person. Scientific disagreement is addressed through editorial review rather than a Society board vote on the paper.
Research and image integrity
Authors are responsible for accurate reporting, appropriate ethics review, required patient consent, proper attribution and disclosure of relevant interests. Images must preserve the underlying evidence.
Clinical findings, simulations and bench demonstrations should be described at their actual level of validation. A proposed use must be distinguished from an observed result.
Specific factual, procedural or integrity concerns can be raised through the journal’s contact route. Include the manuscript or article title and the basis of the concern.
Open access and author rights
The adopted publishing model provides free online reader access and author-retained copyright. Authors will grant the Society a written nonexclusive publication and preservation license.
Articles are intended for publication under Creative Commons Attribution 4.0, with clearly identified exclusions for third-party material. The final written author agreement and required permissions must be completed before publication.
No author publication fees apply at launch. There is no payment required to obtain editorial consideration.
A durable, correctable record
The publishing plan calls for stable article pages, citation information, disclosures, rights information and a clear version history. Corrections or other notices will be linked to the affected article as needed.
First publications are planned for 2027. Identifiers, preservation arrangements and indexing status will be reported when established. No indexing or impact factor is currently claimed.
