Advances in Frontier Medicine brings a shared clinical question to settings that are often studied apart.
What limits care?
What can the evidence change?
The journal’s focus is rigorous, clinically useful research on care when distance, environment or limited resources constrain medicine. That includes austere, expeditionary, remote and space settings, as well as constraints within ordinary hospitals.
A familiar setting may fit when a real limitation is central to the work. An unusual setting or new technology alone does not establish relevance. The question, methods and evidence matter.
A scholarly home for useful work
The planned article families are original research, evidence-based reviews, and concise visual clinical or technical reports. Clinicians, scientists, engineers and educators can contribute work within this scope.
Images should explain. Clear figures and clinical teaching material are encouraged, but otherwise strong research and reviews do not need a visual component to qualify.
A year in print
The planned annual physical book will bring together standout articles and research from the year with handpicked photography and images. It is conceived as a visually generous volume for the coffee table and the library, shaped by careful selection and design.
We welcome photography and image contributions for the book, including work that stands on its own without an accompanying research manuscript.
The Society and the journal
Advances in Frontier Medicine is the scholarly journal being developed by Frontier Medicine Society. The Society supports publication, and its adopted editorial charter protects independent decisions about individual manuscripts.
Society membership, donations and sponsorship do not confer an acceptance preference or a faster review. Publication of an author’s work does not make it official Society policy or a product endorsement.
Building the opening collection
First publications are planned for 2027. The journal has not yet published an issue. Editorial team details will be posted as appointments are completed.
